Woman stabbed, man in court in Waterloo

A man has been charged after he allegedly stabbed his sister at their Waterloo home today, NSW Police say.

About 9.40am today a 26-year-old man allegedly stabbed his 28-year-old sister multiple times in the neck, back and shoulder at the Raglan Street premises.

The man allegedly ran from the premises and was arrested by police in a nearby Street.

The woman was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital suffering a punctured lung and lacerations.

She remains in intensive care.

The man was taken to Redfern Police Station where he was charged with causing grievous bodily harm to person with intent.

He was refused bail and will appear in the Downing Centre Local Court tomorrow.
