Woman suffers serious burns after house fire, NSW

Two women have been taken to hospital following a house fire on the state’s south coast this morning, NSW Police say.

About 3.20am (Saturday 25 August 2018), emergency services were called to a home on Scott Street, Shoalhaven Heads, after reports of a fire.

On arrival, they found the house well-alight and three occupants – two women and a man – outside the house.

A 47-year-old woman was treated at the scene for burns to her body, before being taken to Shoalhaven Hospital in a serious condition.

A 69-year-old woman was treated for smoke inhalation and also taken to Shoalhaven Hospital in a stable condition.

A 77-year-old man was uninjured.

The fire was extinguished, however, the home sustained significant damage.

Officers from South Coast Police District attended and established a crime scene.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
