Woman taken to hospital after crash at Goodwood

A woman has been taken to hospital after crashing her car at Goodwood last night.

Police will allege that just before 11pm on Friday 12 May, emergency services were called to Goodwood Road near Rosa Street after reports that a black Holden station wagon had crashed and rolled on to its side.

The female driver and sole occupant, a 33-year-old woman threatened emergency service workers with an axe before dropping the weapon and being helped out of the car.

She was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment and a mental health assessment.

It is expected that she will be released back into police custody where she will face numerous charges including driving without due care and assault police.
