Women firefighters are invited to participate in a prescribed burn at Cape Clear.
Cape Clear Fire Brigade is hosting the burns on Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 March to allow women crew members to learn about and get more experience in planned burning.
Cape Clear Fire Brigade's burning techniques have been tried and tested over decades and have even been documented in the book The Art of Roadside Burning.
Those wanting to participate can choose either day, and accommodation is available in the area.
The burns will be led by the brigade's captain Michael Rowe.
Michael explained that the brigade hosts regular burning days to help up-skill CFA people, with firefighters coming from as far as Phillip Island to learn their techniques.
He said that the women-only burn weekend was designed to give women members the knowledge and confidence both in roadside burning and on the fireground.
"We've had people come from other districts and regions and burn with us so they can experience roadside burning the way we do it," Michael said.
"A lot of members don't get the opportunity to experience burning in their own districts and well-supervised real flame training is the best training anyone could have.
"We invite all women who are interested in learning about burning to come along. It doesn't matter what skills you have, whether you are new to CFA or have been in a brigade for many years, all you need is your turnout gear and a positive attitude.
"It will be a great day to come together and gain new skills as well as meet new people."

Participants will need to bring their turnout gear in order to participate. The burns will be filmed so that all participants can have a record of the day.
