Woolworths to ease product limits across Victoria

Woolworths will remove product limits on most categories in Victoria from tomorrow (Saturday 8 July) as demand moderates across the state.

Product limits of two per customer will remain on high demand essentials toilet paper, mince, sausages, burgers, beef, lamb, pork, poultry, eggs, flour, frozen veg, frozen potato, pasta, rice and sugar. Limits will come off the remaining 40 subcategories implemented earlier in the week.

Woolworths Supermarkets Victorian General Manager Andrew Hall said: "We're seeing demand moderate and we thank our customers for that.

"We'll keep limits on key products in particularly high demand, including most fresh meat, to ensure all our customers continue to have access to the essentials they need.

"Customers can be assured our distribution centres will continue to operate at the required capacity over the next six weeks following consultations with the Victorian Government this week.

"We welcome the government's willingness to provide us with the flexibility to deliver on its public health objectives while also preserving the supply lines our customers rely on.

"We're working closely with our fresh meat suppliers on plans to minimise disruptions in supply for customers in the weeks ahead.

"We'll continue to monitor the situation closely and reinstate product limits if we see further demand spikes."

All Woolworths supermarkets will remain open throughout Melbourne's Stage 4 Restrictions.
