MidCoast Council
Work on the Forster Main Beach fence will get underway next week.
Previous work has been completed on the site to ready it for the new installation.
The contract for the replacement was awarded to XINC Engineering with funding coming from Council's 2024-2025General Fund surplus.
The fence is approximately 280 metres long. Council has maintained the fence over the years, however, the harsh coastal conditions has resulted in the fence declining so much that it is failing and no longer fit for purpose.
The replacement is expected to be completed by early October and in the meantime pedestrians are asked to exercise caution in the area and observe worksite signage.
