Working together for better building certification

Georges River Council

Council would like to remind residents there is still time to share their stories for its Private Certifier Campaign.

Council wants the community's help to lobby the NSW Government to increase the accountability of private certifiers who are the independent regulators of development and building sites.

Mayor Nick Katris said, "I'd like to thank the residents that have submitted their feedback but we encourage more residents to share their experiences."

Council is seeking greater accountability and enforcement of private certifiers "for the benefit of our community."

Residents can submit their experiences with private certifiers until 9 January 2023. Council hope to present the collection of stories to the NSW Government in a bid to change legislation
