Police are appealing for information and vision to assist investigations into a wounding incident in Cooktown early this morning, July 10.
Initial information indicates around 12.25am, a man gained entry to a Helen Street residence when he was confronted by a male occupant.
It is alleged the offender then used a knife from the residence to stab the male occupant in his back.
The offender then fled the scene on foot.
The 22-year-old male occupant was transported to Cooktown Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigations are ongoing.
Police are appealing for anyone with information or vision that may assist investigations, including dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward.
