Wounding Appeal At Townsville

Detectives have released CCTV footage as part of an ongoing investigation into a wounding incident in Townsville City on March 1.

Around 9pm, a man approached a 55-year-old Pimlico man at an ATM at the intersection of Denham Street and Flinders Street and stabbed him in the neck before stealing his bank card.

The man, described as First Nations, wearing a red bandana covering his face, fled the scene prior to police arrival and was last seen in the area.

The 55-year-old man was transported to Townsville University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators have released CCTV of a blue vehicle they believe to be involved.

Police are appealing to anyone who may recognise the man, or who has relevant CCTV, dashcam, or mobile phone vision from the area around Denham Street and Flinders Street between 8.30pm and 9.30pm, to come forward.

Anyone with information that may assist investigations is urged to contact police.
