Wounding charge, Kangaroo Point

Dutton Park Criminal Investigation Branch detectives have charged a woman following an alleged wounding incident overnight.

Around 6.30pm on Monday May 16, police will allege a 47-year-old Bowen Hills woman stabbed a 49-year-old Kangaroo Point man who was known to her, in the abdomen with a knife following a verbal dispute at a Main Street address.

The man sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital where he remains.

The woman was taken into custody and charged with one count each of wounding and contravene a domestic violence order. She was denied police bail and will appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today, Tuesday May 17.
