Wounding charge, Railway Estate

Police have charged a woman after a man was injured during a disturbance in the Railway Estate yesterday afternoon, Queensland Police say.

Around 3.30pm police attended a Fourteenth Avenue home and located a man with an apparent stab wound to his chest.

Officers located a pair of scissors at the scene.

A 31-year-old man was transported to the Townsville Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, including a collapsed lung, but it is not believed to be life-threatening at this time.

A 25-year-old woman was located by police near the corner of Dean and Palmer Streets around 8.45pm and was taken into custody.

She has been charged with one count of wounding (domestic violence offence) and is due to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court today.
