Wounding charges at Townsville

Detectives have charged a woman after a man was stabbed multiple times in Heatley overnight.

It will be alleged around 11.50pm police were called to Eckhoff Street where they located a man with six stab wounds to his torso.

Police arrested a woman, who is known to the man at a residence further up the street.

The 23-year-old Kelso woman has been charged with one count of wounding (domestic violence offence) and will appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court today.

The 24-year-old Palm Island man was transported to the Townsville Hospital for non-life-threatening stab wounds.
