Wounding charges, Surfers Paradise 18 April

Detectives have charged a man after another man was stabbed in Surfers Paradise this afternoon.

It will be alleged around 4pm a verbal altercation occurred at a Purli Street unit in which the 46-year-old resident of the unit received a single stab wound to his right quad from a small kitchen knife.

The two men are known to each other.

The victim was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment of a 2cm wound.

A 30-year-old Nerang man was located in front of the building by police and charged with one count each of wounding, assault, enter premises and commit indictable offence and wilful damage.

He will appear in the Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow, April 19.
