Wyndham City is celebrating a strong first year of delivery under its landmark Connecting Wyndham program - the largest local government investment in road infrastructure in the City's history.
In just 12 months, Council has hit the ground running, delivering major progress across multiple road and transport projects, with even more in the pipeline for the year ahead.
Among the major milestones achieved so far:
• Works are underway on the Tarneit Road and Leakes Road intersection upgrade
• The next stage of the Ison Road Project is progressing
• Construction commenced on the Little River road upgrades
• Early works have commenced on the K Road reconstruction (Duncans Road to K Road Cliffs)
• Planning is underway for the Tarneit Road and Shaws Road intersection upgrade, with major construction set for early 2026
• Eight roads were rebuilt and 12 resurfaced as part of Wyndham City's annual Road Reconstruction and Road Asphalt Resurfacing Programs
• Significant progress was made on Wyndham's active transport network, including new shared user paths along Laverton Creek and the Davis Creek tributary, and an upgraded path along Skeleton Creek
Wyndham City is investing nearly $250 million in 10 road projects over the first five years of the Connecting Wyndham program, with a further $102 million earmarked for an additional four road projects over 10 years.
This is in addition to Wyndham City's annual Road Reconstruction and Road Asphalt Resurfacing Programs.
Wyndham City Mayor, Councillor Mia Shaw, said Connecting Wyndham focused on creating a more connected, sustainable City.
"This is the biggest roads investment Wyndham has ever seen - and we're making every dollar count," Cr Shaw said.
"Connecting Wyndham is not just about building roads - it's about connecting people to their jobs, schools, parks and services more safely and efficiently than ever before."
Wyndham City Deputy Mayor, Councillor Josh Gilligan, added: "We're working to reduce congestion, improve road safety, and support our rapidly growing suburbs with the infrastructure they deserve."
"We've already made some major gains in our first year of Connecting Wyndham, and there's so much more to come."
