Labor is helping more Victorians to become job-ready and find secure work.
Minister for Jobs Melissa Horne today visited Fitzroy to officially open the revitalised Yarra Thrive Hub, giving more Victorians access to employment support, training and local job opportunities.
Previously operating as a Work and Learning Centre, the Yarra Thrive Hub is run by the Brotherhood of St Laurence and provides community-based support to people who need help finding work or starting training.
Services include personalised coaching, job-readiness workshops, interview preparation and pre-employment training.
The revitalised Hub now has a new dedicated training room, coaching room and improved group activity areas, allowing more one-on-one coaching and group workshops to be delivered at the same time.
These improvements were delivered through the Carroll Labor Government's $5 million investment in local employment initiatives through the 2025-26 Budget.
This investment will allow the Yarra Thrive Hub to support up to 150 additional people each year.
The Labor Government has partnered with the Brotherhood of St Laurence to deliver employment support through the Thrive Hub program since 2024.
By working with local employers and training providers, the Hub helps people build pathways into training and employment and connect with real job opportunities.
The Yarra Thrive Hub is the fourth Thrive Hub in Victoria, with services also operating in Frankston, Broadmeadows and Seymour.
In 2025, Thrive Hubs and Work and Learning Centres across Victoria supported more than 770 people, helping more than 250 people find meaningful employment and almost 300 people access training.
