You Can't Trust Peter Dutton With Working From Home

CPSU

The Coalition's post-election plans to scrap working from home are already being written by big business.*

Peter Dutton says he's changed his mind on working from home - but Australians don't believe him, and comments from Australian Industry Group's Innes Wilcox confirm why workers are right to be sceptical.

The Australian Industry Group, a key voice in the Coalition's policy machine, has made it clear they expect a Dutton government to wind back public sector working from home rights as soon as the current agreement expires in 2027.

They're also pushing to strip rights from casual workers immediately after the election.

Dutton's backflip is nothing more than a short-term fix to avoid a voter backlash. But the people pulling the strings in Peter Dutton's corner haven't changed their views. They're already laying the groundwork to take flexible work away from public servants so the winding back of rights can then flow into the private sector.

You can't trust Peter Dutton with flexible work, and you certainly can't trust the Coalition to stand up to big business when it comes to workers' rights.
