The City of Casey and the ABC are calling on young people aged 12 to 18 to share a story about their life through the Takeover Melbourne competition.
The annual storytelling competition creates a powerful platform for young Melburnians from 31 local government areas to be heard, creating a wonderful opportunity to share your experiences, challenges and passions.
For inspiration, you can view the winning stories from the 2020 Takeover Melbourne Competition, including Casey's own winner, Paige.
ABC producers will work with the winners to develop and showcase their stories for broadcast across the ABC.
The winners will also receive networking and leadership opportunities to enable their voices to be heard in political circles.
Entries can be submitted via the Takeover Melbourne website until 25 June 2021.
The ABC in conjunction with the Casey Youth Team are also offering free workshops and teaching resources for young people, teachers and community groups to help with storytelling and Takeover Melbourne entries.
