Your Hard Waste - Shape How We Collect It

We know how important our waste services are to you, and we're committed to making sure they meet your needs.

Consultation closes soon on your chance to shape 2 key parts of our future waste service.

Hard waste

How do you want your hard waste collected? During a week set by Council, as it is now, or booked for a week that suits you? Let us know.

The amount you can dispose of won't change – just the way we collect it from 2027 onwards.

Hard waste in 2026 will be collected as usual.

Glass bins

The Victorian Government has instructed all councils to introduce a separate bin for glass collection by 2027, and we're asking you if you prefer a taller (120 litre) or shorter (80 litre) glass bin.

Both options take up the same amount of space on the ground, but one is taller than the other. The glass bin will be collected every 4 weeks.

The projected cost difference between an 80L or 120L glass bin is small: with the 80L bins estimated to cost 50 cents less per household per year.

We know many people in our community do not want an extra glass bin, and we will continue to advocate to the Victorian Government to delay their rollout.

Have your say

Let us know your preferences by Wednesday 26 November.
