Your Next Bookmark Has Story. We Found People Behind It

PT_BookMark_2025.jpg

Every bookmark has two stories – the one it makes on the page, and the one behind its design.
We caught up with the artists whose artwork will soon be tucked into books across our Libraries, travelling home in backpacks, beach bags and borrowed novels all summer long.
And just like the books these bookmarks land in, each artist had a completely different chapter to share.
Somerville's Adam Perry has been drawing for as long as he can remember. His design grew from a simple moment of reflection, imagining the library as a place where people find the book they're meant to read.
Jenny grew up in a tiny timber town where creativity had to come from within. Her bookmark carries a gentle reminder to "fill your cup", blending books, comfort and a dash of Peninsula charm.
And Tracey, who took up painting after retiring, drew inspiration from an Irish coastline filled with cottages, lighthouses and long dog walks – the kind of scenes that pair perfectly with a quiet read.
Their designs are already in our Libraries, ready to travel home with readers across the Peninsula.
