Your opportunity to shape a new National Disability Strategy

The National Disability Strategy 2010-2020 is under review in preparation for a new strategy from 2020. Over the past year, an independent review of the existing National Disability Strategy was completed. It found that, while the overall principles and goals remained relevant, implementation and monitoring could be strengthened. Consistent with NDS' feedback, the review highlighted a number of concerns, including limited funding for initiatives and the absence of measurable goals.

The next stage of the consultation will begin in mid-April, with a public survey. Face-to-face community workshops will be held in every state and territory from late April, which will be extended into an online forum from mid-May. The consultations will focus on identifying priorities for the new strategy and associated actions.
