Youth Charged With Multiple Offenses, Metro Bus Vandalism

A 15-year-old has been charged with several matters including burglary, motor vehicle stealing, damaging the windscreen of a Metro bus and stealing – with the value of stolen property exceeding $8,000.

Acting Inspector Jason Klug said the boy was arrested on Friday, after the bus windscreen was damaged at Old Beach on Thursday.

"Police work closely with Metro Tasmania and we take any matters that could affect the safety of drivers and passengers extremely seriously."

"Metro buses are equipped with numerous internal and external high-definition cameras, which means offenders can be quickly identified."
