Youths arrested after break-in at Burnside, South Australia

Three youths were arrested after a break-in at Burnside last night.

Police were called to Greenhill Road just after 11.15pm on Tuesday 10 August by reports of someone jumping back fences . Police attended and saw three suspects running East on Greenhill Road. They cordoned off the area and searched with the assistance of Police Dog Stoic.

Police located one youth on View Terrace. A second youth was found in the rear yard of a property on Gartrell Street and a third youth was found on Waterfall Tce. A stolen white Subaru Outback was found nearby. It has been towed from the scene for forensic examination.

A 15-year-old Christie Downs boy, a 16-year-old Ferryden Park boy and a 17-year-old Huntfield Heights boy were all arrested and charged with unlawfully on premises, serious criminal trespass, illegal use and theft. They were refused bail and will appear in the Youth Court today.

Police would like to thank the public for their assistance in providing information in relation to this incident. Residents were distressed by the presence of the offenders in the area and police want to reassure them that all three youths have been arrested.

Police would also like to remind members of the public of the importance of locking back doors at night.
