Youths In Court After Homes Broken Into At Orange

Two youths are due in court today charged by police investigating break-ins at the weekend in Orange.

Officers attached to Central West Police District have been investigating break and enters, and attempted break-ins, targeting homes between 2am and 4am last Sunday (4 January 2026), during which three vehicles were stolen.

Following inquiries, police executed a search warrant yesterday afternoon (Monday 5 January 2026), and arrested a 17-year-old boy. Clothing, a mobile phone and multiple knives were taken from the scene for further examination.

Two other boys, aged 17 and 15, were also arrested with all three taken to Orange Police Station.

The first boy has now been charged with enter enclosed land without lawful excuse, possess knife in a public place, and breach of bail.

The second 17-year-old boy has been charged with two outstanding warrants, while the youngest boy has been charged with be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner.

The two older boys have been refused bail to appear in a children's court later today (Tuesday 6 January 2026), while the younger boy has been granted bail to appear in a children's court on 5 February 2026.
