0.283 reading after driver stopped

A woman will face court on a high range drink driving charge after police stopped her car in peak hour traffic in between Sutherland and Heathcote earlier this week.

About 4.45pm on Monday 27 May 2019, police responded to a number of Triple Zero (000) calls about a southbound car allegedly swerving across traffic lanes and speeding between Sutherland to Heathcote on the Princes Highway.

Police attached to Sutherland Highway Patrol attempted to stop the vehicle but the car kept driving.

The vehicle stopped and the driver was subjected to a roadside breath test which she was unable to complete after several attempts.

She was arrested and taken to Sutherland Police Station, where she was subjected to a breath analysis, allegedly returning a reading of 0.283.

The 36-year-old Shellharbour woman was issued a Field Court Attendance notice to appear before Sutherland Local Court on Thursday 20 June 2019 to answer a charge of drive with high range prescribed concentration of alcohol - second offence.
