109 Schools Set to Reopen Monday After Flood

NSW Department of Education

109 schools will reopen on Monday 25 May following the severe weather event that affected the Mid North Coast, Hunter and Central Coast.

60 schools will remain closed on Monday across impacted regions, as well as 173 early childhood education and care services and seven TAFE NSW campuses. This includes 33 public schools, three Catholic schools, and 24 independent schools.

Families from the communities where schools have reopened have been informed directly by their schools.

If you have been told that your school is closed, please keep your children at home.

Importantly, if a school is closed, it will not be offering minimal supervision to students.

Learning from home resources will be made available for all students. Schools continue to be the first point of contact on educational matters throughout this difficult time.

Some schools remain closed until we can safely assess potential impacts to school assets and infrastructure. We will conduct these assessments as soon as it is safe to do so.
