12 James Street Demolition and Car Park Project

James Street Demolition COS Web Hero.jpg

As part of the Salisbury City Centre Renewal Strategy, the former Civic Centre at 12 James Street will be demolished and in the immediate term re-constructed into temporary car parking available for use by City of Salisbury staff and the community.

There will be no disruption to Council services during the demolition period and services will continue to be provided from the Salisbury Community Hub on Church St.

Planning is underway to minimise any potential disruption during the demolition and we are particularly keen to ensure disruption to business activity is kept to a minimum. The site has been identified as a future development site.

The 12 James Street project is scheduled to begin in the week of 10 August 2020, with the demolition to be completed around the middle of September. The construction of the car park will start immediately after and is expected to be completed in early December (approximately 4 months in total).

Interruptions

During the demolition stages, there will be some interruptions to some existing car park spaces and access around the site. The City of Salisbury will keep you up to date on any changes to access via this website and our Facebook page.
