15 arrested after Aspendale Gardens home broken into and damaged

Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested fifteen teenagers after an Aspendale Gardens home was broken into and left completely damaged this year.

Detectives appealed for community assistance after an unoccupied address on Wells Street was allegedly broken into multiple times throughout September.

The offenders allegedly caused extensive damage inside the home, smashing windows and walls, graffitiing walls and fixtures, tearing out electrical and light fittings and setting small fires in numerous rooms.

Following their appeal for public information, detectives arrested and interviewed fifteen teenagers across October and November.

Two 14-year-olds from Aspendale Gardens and a 14-year-old from Keysborough were charged on summons with criminal damage and trespass.

All three will face a children's court at a later date.

Ten teenagers, aged between 13 and 14, were issued with official cautions for criminal damage and trespass.

One girl was released without charge.

Moorabbin detectives would like to thank the community and media for their assistance with the matter.
