Entries are now open for Music: Count Us In's National Songwriting Competition! MCUI is looking for Australia's best young songwriters to help write its 2020 program song. Could you or someone you know help write the song that stops the nation in 2020?

Student songwriters from around the country have until 19 February 2020 to submit a song that celebrates music in the lives of young Australian people, with melodies and lyrics that are fun, uplifting and easy to learn.

Four lucky finalists will be selected to join John Foreman OAM and a celebrity mentor to compose the final song for MCUI 2020. This is a once in a lifetime experience for a young musician!

"It was a life changing experience that I am constantly grateful for. Working with John Foreman was so relaxed and productive. It was an environment where we all really connected through music and that helped us understand how to create the song." Feedback from MCUI 2019 songwriter

MCUI is Australia's biggest school initiative; celebrating music and music education across the country. 2020 will be the program's 14th year. The program song (written by the winners of the National Songwriting Competition) will be sung by hundreds of thousands of young people on MCUI's national Celebration Day in November 2020 when schools in every state and territory join forces sing the same song, on the same day, at the same time.

The competition guidelines and details of how to enter can be found here.
