Parkes Shire Council is pleased to be partnering with the Parkes Community Arts Inc. (PCA) to host the Spring Fling Festival this month.

Funded by the NSW Government's Reconnecting Regional NSW Community Events Program, PCA is hosting the festival between Saturday 8 and Sunday 23 October 2022.

The festival includes a jam-packed program of free events including a Community Fun Day, a film screening of Baz Luhrmann's ELVIS, creative workshops, music and art.

You can get involved in the festival by attending one of the many workshops being held during the two-week festival, including Community Drumming Workshops, an Inventing Insects Art Workshop, or a Spring Flower-Arranging Workshop.

ELVIS, Baz Luhrmann's latest film, will be screened at Cooke Park Pavilion on Friday 14 October at 6pm.

Parkes Shire Council's Manager Cultural, Education & Library Services Kerryn Jones said, "Movie goers are encouraged to come dressed up in their best Elvis or Priscilla gear, with prizes to be awarded for the best dressed.
