The Department of Education and Training is proud to announce the 2025 finalists for the World Teachers' Day Awards, celebrating two decades of recognising excellence in education across the Territory.
These awards recognise and celebrate the achievements of Northern Territory Government school teachers, principals, leaders and support staff who deliver high-quality learning to young Territorians.
Territory-wide celebrations will be held in each region on World Teachers' Day - Friday 31 October 2025, bringing communities together to acknowledge the dedication and impact of our educators.
Each of the nine award categories will feature six regional winners, with one overall Territory winner selected for each category:
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Educator of the YearEarly Childhood Educator of the YearCorporate Based Support Person of the YearInclusion Educator of the YearLeader in Education of the YearPrimary Educator of the YearPrincipal of the YearSecondary Educator of the YearSchool Based Support Person of the Year.
Susan Bowden, Chief Executive of the Department of Education and Training commended the outstanding professionalism and dedication of all finalists.
"Congratulations to all the finalists whose exceptional contributions are being recognised across the Territory. I also extend my thanks to the colleagues who see this commitment in action every day and took the time to nominate them,' Ms Bowden said.
"This 20-year milestone is a testament to the strength and professionalism of our education workforce. Thank you for the difference you make every day."
