2025/26 Community Grants Round One Awarded

At its 1 December 2025 Meeting, Council approved 7 applications for funding totalling $11,222 under Round One of the 2025/26 Council Community Strengthening Grants Scheme as recommended by the Community Grant Funding Committee.

The recipients approved for funding were:

RecipientFunding
All Nations Christian Fellowship Leeton$2,000 to cover insurance costs associated with delivering food to families in need within the community.
Leeton Army Cadet Unit$1,700 to purchase new radio communication equipment to support training activities both in the field and at the depot.
Leeton Little Athletics$1,267 for the purchase of a portable air conditioning unit for the canteen.
Leeton Multicultural Support Group (LMSG)$2,000 to go towards crisis funding for vulnerable CALD community, such as accommodation, food and medical costs.
Riverina Riding Club$1,555 to reposition the entrance gate at Wamoon Recreational Reserve for safer access.
Riverina Roadrunners$2,000 to cover costs associated with traffic management (including road closure of Chelmsford Place) for their Show and Shine event in August 2026.
St Peter's Anglican Church Leeton$700 to update portable sound system in the church hall.

"These grants support a strong mix of practical, community-focused projects, from helping families in need and vulnerable CALD residents, to boosting cadet training, improving local sporting facilities, safer access at Wamoon Recreational Reserve, and well-run community events. Each initiative will add to the wellbeing and connection of people right across Leeton Shire," said Councillor and Community Grant Funding Committee member Krystal Maytom.

Note: Cr Maytom declared a conflict of interest for the LMSG and did not participate in determining that application which was deliberated separately to the others.
