2026 Minor Capital Work Grants: Apply by Appointment

Local not-for-profit community groups and organisations are invited to book an Application by Appointment for Baw Baw Shire Council's 2026 Expression of Interest Minor Capital Work submissions.

Baw Baw Shire's Community Grants Program provides funding to deliver much-needed projects, programs, events, minor capital works, and equipment purchases.

Community groups have received over $380,000 in funding through this program over the last year, going towards:

- Upgrading a sports oval playing surface

- Painting a backstage and dressing room area

- Installation of an electronic scoreboard.

Baw Baw Shire Council Mayor Councillor Kate Wilson says, "We encourage community groups to submit an Expression of Interest for any Minor Capital Work projects, as it puts resources into the hands of those who know what they need to improve their facilities."

The program helps to deliver projects that align with Baw Baw Shire Council's Plan and Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan, and by supporting and partnering with the community to deliver community priorities that improve participation, inclusion, and accessibility.

Minor Capital Works funding of up to $10,000 is available to eligible not-for-profit community groups or organisations with an applicant cash contribution of 25% of the total grant amount.

Projects could include painting a hall, fencing, lighting upgrades, netting behind goal posts, goal post installation, playing surface upgrades, kitchen upgrades, electronic scoreboards, and public seating.

Please note that Minor Capital Work grants are not available for projects on privately owned assets.

Applications by Appointment open at 9am on Monday 20 April and close at midday on Friday 29 May.

Book an appointment now to ensure your application is submitted on time.

These grants are subject to a two-stage application process. Applicants with successful Expression of Interest Minor Capital Work applications will be invited to submit a Minor Capital Work application in July.

If you are a part of a community group that could benefit from a grant, now is the time to book an appointment to discuss your project.
