Our staff proudly marched in solidarity alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities at the NAIDOC Week March on Friday 10 July.
This was a powerful experience celebrating culture, and recognising the ongoing journey towards truth-telling, justice and reconciliation for First Nations people in Melbourne and Australia wide.
With beautiful weather and a strong sense of community, staff joined thousands of people marching from the Victorian Aboriginal Health Service in Fitzroy to Parliament House. All generations celebrated with music, dance and truth-telling. It was joyful and exciting to see young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members celebrating their culture and history alongside their elders.
The 2026 theme '50 years of Deadly', celebrates the achievements, strength, culture and resilience of First Nations people today and the enduring contributions of First Nations peoples.
