280 cannabis plants seized, man charged, NSW

A man has been charged after police seized approximately 280 cannabis plants during a search warrant on the Mid North Coast, NSW Police say.

About 2.50pm on Wednesday 28 March 2018, police from Mid North Coast Police District, with the assistance of the Dog Unit, executed a search warrant at a home on Crescent Head Road.

During the search, police allegedly located a large amount of cash, cannabis leaf and 280 cannabis plants.

The plants to have an estimated potential street value of $560,000.

About 3.45pm on Thursday 29 March 2018, a 63-year-old man attended Kempsey Police Station where he was arrested.

He was charged with cultivating prohibited plant, deal in proceeds of crime, possess prohibited drug and supply prohibited drug.

The man was refused bail to appear at Port Macquarie Bail Court today (Friday 30 March 2018).
