The Crisafulli Government is delivering a plan for Queensland's future, with a $4.1 million investment into a new clubhouse for Pine Rivers Netball Association through the $250 million Games On! program.
Players, officials, and spectators will benefit from a multi-million-dollar investment to upgrade netball facilities at Les Hughes Sporting Complex in Bray Park, supporting 15 clubs and more than 2000 members.
The association has now received the funding to deliver modern, accessible, and inclusive amenities and replace an aged building that's served the netball community for more than 40 years.
The Crisafulli Government is delivering a fresh start for Queensland and the State's grassroots clubs and community groups ahead of the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, after a decade of decline under Labor.
Minister for Sport and Racing and Minister for the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tim Mander said the upgrade will support the next generation of netballers.
"Pine Rivers Netball Association supports hundreds of people to get active and participate in netball, from kids right through to seniors," Minister Mander said.
"This funding through the Crisafulli Government's $250 million Games On! program will provide modern, comfortable and inclusive space for people to play, spectate and enjoy netball."
"We want to ensure all of Queensland benefits from the Games and anyone who's spent time at Bray Park on a Saturday knows how many players, coaches and umpires will benefit from this upgrade."
Pine Rivers Netball Association President Rachelle Swan said the upgrade would support members and visitors who use the venue's 20 courts.
"For us, it's about having cleaner, safer and more accessible facilities for our netball community.
"We're continuing to grow participation, especially among men, boys and in mixed competitions, and this upgrade will help us to support that growth.
"We're incredibly excited for this project to begin and to see the impact it will have on our ability to get even more people out on the courts playing netball."
