$40M Boost for Affordable Home Energy Upgrades

Dept of Climate Change, Energy, Environment & Water

We are continuing to support Australian households with more choices for discounted loans to improve the energy efficiency of their homes.

Under the continued rollout of the $1 billion Household Energy Upgrades Fund (HEUF), we are committing $40 million to Brighte through the Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC). This funding will support up to $150 million of consumer energy resources (CER) across Australia.

Eligible customers will be able to install:

  • solar and battery systems
  • energy efficient heating and cooling
  • insulation
  • EV chargers.

Brighte will offer its HEUF Discounted Green Loan at an introductory rate of 6.99% for terms of 2 to 10 years. Loans will be available for between $2,000 and $55,000.

This is the sixth investment through the CEFC under the HEUF. It takes the total government commitment under the program to more than $400 million, and follows deals with lenders:

  • Plenti
  • Westpac
  • ING Australia
  • Bank Australia
  • Commonwealth Bank of Australia.

Brighte HEUF Discounted Loans are available now.
