$500M Residential Fund Round 2 Guidelines Out

Deputy Premier, Minister for State Development, Infrastructure and Planning and Minister for Industrial Relations The Honourable Jarrod Bleijie
  • Guidelines have been released for the next round of funding through the $2 billion Residential Activation Fund, helping to unlock land for new housing across Queensland by delivering trunk and essential infrastructure.
  • Applications for Round 2 are set to open in the coming weeks.
  • This next tranche builds on the success of the first round, which funded nearly $1 billion in infrastructure projects across the state in 2025.
  • The Crisafulli Government is delivering a better lifestyle through a stronger economy and more Queenslanders a place to call home to ease Labor's Housing Crisis.

The Crisafulli Government has released guidelines for the next $500 million round of the $2 billion Residential Activation Fund to fast-track more housing developments across the state and deliver more Queenslanders a place to call home.

The Residential Activation Fund is part of the Crisafulli Government's Securing Our Housing Foundations Plan and is designed to remove key barriers to residential development by funding trunk and essential infrastructure such as water, sewerage, roads, and power.

Round 2 of the Residential Activation Fund continues the Crisafulli Government's strong focus on regional Queensland, with at least half of the funding allocated to projects in regional areas.

The updated guidelines for Round 2 of the Residential Activation Fund provide detailed information for Councils and industry on eligibility criteria and requirements for applicants, with applications to open in the coming weeks.

Deputy Premier and Minister for State Development, Infrastructure and Planning Jarrod Bleijie encouraged councils and industry to start preparing their applications now to take full advantage of the funding available.

"After a decade of decline, the Crisafulli Government is easing Labor's Housing Crisis by getting on with delivering shovel ready projects that will unlock more places to call home for Queenslanders," Deputy Premier Bleijie said.

"Our $2 billion Residential Activation Fund provides support for trunk and essential infrastructure projects that are shovel-ready, accelerating new developments so more Queenslanders have a place to call home.

"We have already invested nearly $1 billion for new infrastructure projects, unlocking land for more than 98,000 new homes across the state.

"Under this next round, we'll invest a further $500 million to fast-track the delivery of homes across the state.

"Unlike the former Labor Government, the Crisafulli Government partners with councils and industry to deliver a place to call home for more Queenslanders.

"I strongly encourage councils and industry with shovel-ready projects to begin preparing now for applications to open."
