A cultural facilities development vision for Hobart

With Hobart increasingly gaining a reputation as a national centre for cultural and arts activity, the Hodgman Liberal Government is taking steps to ensure our facilities can meet both current and future needs.

To inform our Cultural Facilities Development Vision, the Government has engaged AEN Advisory and Design Services to undertake a study, which will provide an evidence-based overview of current facilities and what may be required into the future.

Up to 30 venues within the Hobart, Glenorchy, Clarence and Kingborough municipalities will be considered in this study.

Venues will be prioritised based on current routine usage to provide cultural services through the programming, production, presentation, and exhibition of any of the arts and cultural disciplines.

Identified venue owners/operators together with a representative group of stakeholders from the sector will be invited to participate in this study.

The study of current venues will begin in late 2018 and be finalised by mid-2019.
