A star shines bright - an evening with Isaiah Firebrace at Bowery

The biggest name to ever play the stage at the Bowery Theatre is about to head west and perform one of his most intimate concerts on his current tour.

Internationally acclaimed singer Isaiah Firebrace is playing to just 200 people when he presents his 'Live and Beyond' concert at the Bowery Theatre in St Albans on Sunday 7 July.

Isaiah hails from the small country town of Moama on the Murray River and first stepped into the spotlight when he was crowned winner of the eighth season of The X Factor Australia.

He's since grabbed global attention and performed overseas, including the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest Grand Final with his single 'Don't Come Easy'.

Fresh from touring Europe and sell out shows at the Sydney Opera House, Isaiah now embarks on a series of up close and personal performances, where he'll play all his hits and some exciting new material.

This is a rare chance to see a celebrated talent locally in a cosy Bowery Theatre setting.

And while he's in the Brimbank neighbourhood, Isaiah will also attend a school assembly at Copperfield College in Kings Park to give a talk to students about his journey to stardom and following your dreams.

Isaiah has a strong connection with his Indigenous heritage and loves to share his stories through the power of song.

Along with other Council events, Isaiah's concert heralds the beginning of NAIDOC Week (7-14 July 2019), which celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Brimbank Mayor Cr Lucinda Congreve said: It's exciting to welcome such a well-known and inspirational artist to Brimbank, who is not only sharing his talent in a show at the Bowery but also taking the time to meet our youth directly.

"Isaiah's visit during NAIDOC Week helps shine a light on our Indigenous communities' strong spiritual and cultural connection to the land.

"NAIDOC Week is a celebration for all Australians and a great opportunity to learn more about our Aboriginal and Torres Strait communities," Cr Congreve said.
