ACCC Backs 7-Eleven in Velocity Loyalty Program

ACCC

The ACCC has issued a draft determination proposing to grant authorisation to 7-Eleven Stores, its franchisees and Velocity Frequent Flyer to allow 7-Eleven to participate as an earn partner in Velocity's loyalty program. This would allow Velocity members to earn points when making purchases from 7-Eleven outlets.

Authorisation was previously granted in 2021 for 5 years and expired on 19 August 2026. Urgent interim authorisation was granted on 18 August 2026 to enable the conduct to continue to occur following the expiry of the previous authorisation, while the ACCC assesses the most recent application for authorisation.

The ACCC proposes to grant authorisation for 10 years. The ACCC is now seeking submissions in response to the draft determination by 16 September 2026, before making its final decision. More information about the draft determination and how to make a submission is available on the ACCC's public register.
