On 21 August 2026, the ACCC released a draft determination proposing to re-authorise the applicants to coordinate maintenance schedules and activities at their LNG facilities on Curtis Island. The coordination:
- limits overlapping maintenance work
- optimises efficiency, safety and environmental factors.
This conduct has been conditionally authorised since May 2016. The ACCC proposes to conditionally re-authorise the arrangements for a period of 10 years.
Because the existing authorisation expires on 31 August 2026, the ACCC also decided to grant interim authorisation. This means the applicants can continue to coordinate maintenance activities while the ACCC considers the substantive application.
The ACCC is now seeking submissions in response to the draft determination by 11 September 2026, before making its final decision.
