IAG has acknowledged the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission's (ACCC) release today of a Statement of Issues regarding the proposed strategic alliance with The Royal Automobile Club of Western Australia (RAC) to provide general insurance products and services for RAC members and Western Australians.

The Statement of Issues represents the ACCC's preliminary views in relation to the strategic alliance and it is not a final decision. The ACCC will consult on the matters raised in the Statement of Issues.

The ACCC has indicated it expects to announce its final decision on 27 November. IAG has been working collaboratively with the ACCC in relation to its review and will continue to engage with the regulator in relation to the matters raised in the Statement of Issues.

IAG Managing Director and CEO Nick Hawkins said: "We are committed to partnering with RAC to serve and protect more Western Australians and welcome the further consultation that will now occur. We continue to believe the alliance with RAC builds on our shared heritage as mutuals, and strong sense of customer and community."

IAG will continue to provide updates as appropriate during the approval process.
