ACCI has published part one of a two-part advisory document on easing restrictions, improving the COVID business operating environment, and how business can participate more fully in the vaccine rollout.
Reopening Australia: Part One focuses on Australia's domestic responses and the ongoing challenges including vaccination delays and some of our State and Territory Government's disproportionate actions.
"We are acutely aware of the role business must play in the recovery, but every time State Governments turn to lockdowns as the default first response with insufficient notice, we harm businesses, employees and families – everyone is affected," acting CEO Jenny Lambert said.
"The first document published today highlights the key matters Australian businesses face as we look to resolve our domestic borders and ultimately reopen Australia to the rest of the world."
Proposed recommendations include principles for reopening, a plan for further easing of restrictions, improving communication, boosting vaccine literacy, reducing hesitancy and managing workplace issues.
The recommendations come following ACCI's engagement with the Federal Government through several departments involved in the complex ongoing management of COVIDSafe activities and the national vaccine roll out.
"ACCI looks forward to an engaged discussion with stakeholders and will focus Part Two on our much-needed international border reopening," Ms Lambert said.
