A FACEM since 1998, Dr Oakley has specialised in Paediatric Emergency Medicine since 2003.
ACEM President Dr Clare Skinner said, "It is fantastic to see a skilled, highly experienced and caring FACEM in such a critical leadership position. This appointment showcases the depth of leadership talent in the emergency medicine community, and the valued role of FACEMs leading the health system through the COVID-19 pandemic, and beyond."
Dr Oakley will commence the role in February 2022.
