Acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm charge, Goodna

Police have charged a 50-year-old Goodna man following an alleged assault at Goodna earlier today.

It will be alleged around 6.30am, a physical altercation occurred between two men near a Queen Street business.

Around 8am, a member of the public located an unconscious 40-year-old man and alerted authorities.

Emergency services arrived a short time later, with the man being transported in a critical condition to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Police located the 50-year-old man nearby and he was taken into custody.

Ipswich detectives have charged him with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, and common assault.

He has been denied bail will face Brisbane Magistrates Court on November 30.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident or may have CCTV/dashcam footage of the area around the time of the incident to come forward.
