Melbourne Sexual Offence and Child Abuse Investigation Team detectives are appealing for public assistance to locate Adam Berguiga following a sexual assault in Melbourne East on New Year's Day.
Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident in Coors Lane, Melbourne East about 4.30am on 1 January 2026.
Officers have been told the victim was with friends at a nightclub for New Years Eve when a man helped her from the dance floor after she fell. It is believed the same man then sexually assaulted the woman shortly after in the laneway before he led the victim to Little Bourke Street and left the area.
Following investigations into the incident the 22-year-old is now wanted on warrant in relation to the sexual assault.
It is believed he may be driving a blue 2007 Toyota Yaris sedan with registration UYO268.
He is known to frequent the Melbourne CBD, St Kilda and Port Phillip areas.
Investigators have released an image of Berguiga in the hope that someone may be able to provide information on his current whereabouts.
Berguiga is a French National who is Caucasian, with short dark hair and a side part.
He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black hoody jacket, and black and white sneakers.
