The Criminal Groups Squad's Strike Force Raptor have laid additional charges following an investigation into a criminal group allegedly supplying prohibited drugs and firearms across NSW.

In June 2018, investigators from the Criminal Groups Squad's Strike Force Raptor commenced an investigation into a criminal group involved in the alleged supply of prohibited drugs and firearms across the state.

During the investigation, police seized a total of 31 firearms, including six handguns and 26 long-arms – such as a M1 Carbine, two SKS semi-automatic rifles, a military self-loading rifle, a Mossberg pump-action and a Ruger semi-automatic rifle – knives, knuckle dusters, ammunition, 20kg of silver, large commercial and commercial quantities of GBL and MDMA, a tablet press and prescription drugs.

Four men – aged 22, 33, 44, and 65 – have previously been charged. They remain before the courts.

Following further inquiries, the 22-year-old man – now aged 23 – was arrested at Southern Highlands Police Station about 10.30am yesterday (Tuesday 7 January 2020).

The Buxton man was charged with supply prohibited firearm to unauthorised person and supply prohibited firearm to person unauthorised to possess it.
