The AFP has launched a new Pacific documentary series, with episode one showcasing the inaugural Pacific Police Tattoo held in Papua New Guinea to celebrate the country's 50th anniversary of independence, and as a tribute to the people of the Pacific and the police men and women who serve their communities.
The 'Inside Pacific Policing' series will shine a light on the complexity of law-and-order issues confronting the Pacific and showcase the combined efforts of regional law enforcement partners, including the AFP, in rising to meet the regions' priorities.
Episode one, 'Inside Pacific Policing: Pacific Police Tattoo 2025', provides a behind-the-scenes view of the police band performances and their preparations in the lead up to the inaugural Pacific Police Tattoo event held in Port Moresby earlier this year. Watch the episode here.
The event saw law enforcement bands from eight countries showcase their skills at Sir Hubert Murray Stadium, bringing Pacific culture to a style of musical competition anchored in tradition and ceremony.
The documentary episode features more than 110 police staff who delivered flawless performances on the big stage, as well as stories about the connections built and experiences shared from Pacific policing band leaders across multiple nations.
