AFSM - Final weeks to nominate

There is less than one month left to nominate outstanding CFA people for an Australian Fire Services Medal (AFSM) as part of the 2020 Queen's Birthday Honours.

AFSM - Final weeks to nominate

The AFSM is awarded for distinguished service to fire services across Australia. Only one award is presented to an individual, and recipients are entitled to use the post-nominal letters AFSM.

Medals are awarded biannually in the Australia Day and the Queen's Birthday Honours lists.

Each year CFA coordinates nominations for the Australian Fire Service Medal (AFSM) to ensure the best possible opportunity for our people to receive the award.

By participating in Australian Honours CFA recognises the exceptional contribution our people make in their communities, in Victoria, across Australia, and even internationally.

It's a prestigious honour. Only 28 CFA people have received an AFSM in the past three years, and this is your chance to nominate someone you feel should be added to the list.

Previous winners include Warren Curry AFSM, Nicole Harvey AFSM, Allan Cracknell AFSM, and John T Callahan AFSM.

The AFSM is awarded by the Governor of Victoria at a dedicated ceremony at Government House in Melbourne.

To nominate an outstanding CFA person for the 2020 Queen's Birthday Honours visit the CFA Awards website.

CFA nominations close 1 November 2019.
