AGA Apprenticeships Plus welcomes students to annual Open Day

AGA Apprenticeships Plus will hold their annual Open Day on Thursday September 12th, 2019.

Hosted at AGA's Deer Park training facility, the event is expected to attract around 450 students from schools across the North and West of Melbourne.

Expanding on last year's event, AGA are looking forward to welcoming an additional 100 students from the Wynbay, Brimbank and Melton LGA regions.

Students will have the opportunity to interact with local businesses as well as Apprenticeship Service provider MAS National to explore apprenticeship and traineeship career pathways.

Bunnings, Triple M and Western Sports Centre will be in attendance to entertain, engage and inform students throughout the day.

Held at AGA's state-of-the-art Deer Park training facility, students will have the opportunity to tour the facilities which include scaled house constructions used by plumbing, carpentry and electrical students, as well as a large automotive workshop and several specialized classrooms.

Students will also have the chance to participate in workshops on the day, with trade-based activities and the MAS National Careers Trailer on site.

AGA's Open Day is designed to support students with decision making around future career pathways as they approach their final years of study.

With a range of trade exhibitors and representatives from AGA and MAS National on hand to answer questions, students will have the chance to access information about a variety of trades including industry pathways and training options.

By providing an opportunity for students to interact directly with trades, trainers and industry, AGA seek to provide an environment which nurtures local students into sustainable careers.

Building on existing links with local schools, AGA's Open Day presents trades to young people as a legitimate career choice.

In addition to supporting around 500 Vocational Education and Training (VET) in school students, AGA participates in high school education programs which aim to provide students with information about the positives of taking on a trade.

As a Registered Training Organization (RTO), Group Training Organization (GTO) and Australian Apprenticeship Services Network (AASN) provider with strong links to industry, AGA are well-placed to service the needs of both young people seeking training and employment as well as businesses seeking skilled apprentices.

With more than 30 years' experience, AGA prides itself on the delivery of quality training and the preparation of individuals for a career in their chosen vocation.
